Hi All,
My mom is diabetic and use Insulin twice.
First before breakfast (fasting) and then before dinner (random).
Here is the list of some food you should avoid
Artificial sweetener, honey and sweet,
Glucose and fructose,
Carrot, potatoes and beans,
Watermelon, banana, mango and strawberry,
Yogurt and cheese.
Is there a disease that causes the body to produce sugar??? I can eat nothing for 12 hours, take my insulin, and still have 300+ mg/dl. It does not make sense. Diet and excercise make no difference.....
Hi,
the high sugar in the morning is called the 'dawn' phenomenon'. it is dangerous to have very high levels. He needs to see his doctor and diabetes educator and work out how to manage his blood sugar better.
HE may well need an increase in insulin and/or a change in type of meds he takes.
Diet and exercise are also very important.
