Stomach ache And really bad Thirst

Just in the past couple of months I've developed this unquenchable thirst. All day I drink. I keep water by the bed. I've developed a stomach ache along with it. I can full up two gallon jugs a day. I did just to see how much I was going. Been getting dizzy when I stand up. I'm a 55 yr old male. History of heart and diabetes in my family. My oldest son just loss a toe to it. Everything I eat makes me feel sick. Supposed to see my doctor at Christmas. Any idea what might be wrong. Has me worried

Hi General,

Please come back and let us know how you are doing.   What happened with seeing your dr.

Hello,

sounds like adult onset type 1 diabetes.  It could be something else, but we cannot diagnose it online.

I seriously think you should go to your nearest emergency room and tell them your symptoms. Make sure they test you for diabetes.  Tell them this has been going on for months and is getting worse.  If this is type 1 diabetes and it is not treated you could die.    There is a very real risk of developing something called diabetic ketoacidosis.  This can be fatal. You are far too young not to act urgently on this.

Do not wait to see your Dr at Christmas.  Please go to the emergency room after you read my message.   If I am wrong, then you have been reassured by seeing a dr.  If I am right, then my recommendation could be lifesaving.

Please go to the Dr and then come back to let us know that you are ok, and tell us about your treatment.
