A few things

I frequently have to urinate after eating something with sugar in it, specfically rice, but it usually happens a few minutes after I eat that certain food as opposed to a few hours later with people who do have diabetes. Not sure if that's a symptom of diabetes or not. I also get this feeling like the sugar just "sits" there and it's really uncomfortably and nothing seems to help.

I'm also thinking of performing my own glucose tolerance test and was wondering if there was anything I could drink to replace the glucola bottle. Thanks

you could ask your dr to perform a hemoglobin A1C blood test..this will give them an average of what your blood sugar has been over that past 3 months...

I am not a physician, but the mom of a type one and a daughter of a type 2.  I would suggest that you speak to your doctor or see and endocrinologist. There are other tests besides a glucose tolerance test that they can do.  I also would not suggest that you do your own testis if you go too high or too low, you can hurt body.  (i.e.: going in to a coma or having seizures.)
If your doctor cannot figure it out what is going on, get a second opinion.
