Keep me updated on how it goes!
Thankyou so much ! I will give this a try :)
First, set realistic goals, and do not compare yourself with others. Everybody is unique. If it took you years to gain weight, it is better to take the same time to loose it again. 500g a week is alot to loose. Not to mention more healthy and gentle to your body. If you loose weight more slowly, it will also stay away longer.
Second: fast weight loss is most of the time lost water and muscles. Fat takes ages to go away.
Third: Think of a diet as something permanent. Crash diets just help you gain weight faster once they are over. So, pick some simple rules of a balanced and healthy diet, and follow them. Don't sweat it if you crave for something "bad", to a balanced diet belongs the bad side, too. If you give in now to a small piece of chocolate, it is much better than to eat two whole packages later.
Fourth: some people have a tricky metabolism and have trouble with the usual diets for weight loss. Here are some tricks: limit fruit and fruit juices to only one serving a day. Fruit sugar is bad for some people on a weight loss. Stay away from bananas! Increase veggies, steam them, cook them, stir fry with a spoon of olive, canola or coconut oil. Fats are important, as long as they are the right kind. Eat a handful of nuts a day. No peanuts, but pecan, brasil, almonds, walnuts. Very healthy fats, and rich in protein and fibre, they will keep you satiated. Eat lots of low fat meat and dairy. You need the protein. And if you really want to stay with starches (some type 1 diabetics still cannot resist), eat wholemeal and fibre rich. This diet will keep your blood sugar down, too. Oh, and drink water, since you will loose so much anyway. No flavored water, but real, plain water. Good luck!
