Scar tissue from abdominal injections...

I know that I should be rotating my injections and I am now.  I started today giving myself a shot in the buttocks.  The problem I Have is for 10 years I have basically given myself all my shots in my abdomen area (2-6 per day).  I never noticed a problem until I recently was trying to cut some weight.  I noticed my upper abs were developing much faster then my lower.  I also notice that sometimes when I give myself a shot it sounds like I am going through paper.

Is there any solution for scar tissue from injections?  I have read deep muscle massages may help.  I am going to lay off of this area for a couple of months to see if this helps as well.  Any creams?  Heat/Cold wraps?  I just want a 6-Pack! :D

With time it will improve, but as a Licensed Massage Therapist and long time diabetic, I can tell you that massage can help to break down the scar tissue faster.

You can also try MSM supplements, it comes in both a cream and in pill form. It has been shown to reduce inflammation and scar tissue in athletes and patients recovering from surgery.

I have used it myself as I'm a professional dancer and have dealt with several injuries including corrective surgeries to treat stress fractures etc. Massaging the cream into the affected areas and taking a supplement once or twice/day can really help speed the process.

You can find MSM at any vitamin/supplement store. Try to get one from a reputable company or a well known brand name, so are getting the most bang for your buck.

Ultrasound has long been used in physical therapy. There's a possibility that it could help, but ultrasound waves do not go very deep and depending on the extent of the scar tissue present, it may or may not be helpful. You can get a referral to a Physical Therapist though, they might be able to speed the process for you.

Make sure your LMP is knowledgeable in the modalities of massage that affect scar tissue, a generic swedish massage (the standard of most therapists) won't do much for your situation.

You need cross fiber friction massage to literally break up the tissue.

Thanks for the update.  Yes I understand the importance now.  The back of the arms is very difficult to do by myself.  I don't have a whole lot of fat on my upper leg and the same with my arm.  I have been giving myself a shot on my buttocks as of late.

I will try out the Vitamin E oil.  I got a deep tissue massage last week and she worked my abs pretty good.  She went from side to side (naval to outside on both sides) and she said she felt a bunch of scar tissue.  She could tell it was breaking it up a little though.  Another suggestion someone gave me was ultrasound.

ITS SOOO VERY IMPORTANT TO CHANGE SHOT SITES.IT WILL TAKE A VERY LONG TIME FOR IT TO GO AWAY[IF IT DOES] OTHER SITES TO TRY ARE YOUR UPPER THIGH,THE BACK OF YOUR UPPER ARM,AS WELL AS YOUR BUTTOCKS.PLEASE ALTERNATE.AS FOR THE SCAR TISSUE A GOOD VITIMANE E OIL WILL BE GOOD.IT ABSORBS DEEPER THAN LOTIONS.IT WILL NOT BE AN OVERNIGHT FIX BUT IT WILL CERTINALLY HELP.WHEN YOU APPLY IT MASSAGE THE TISSUE.THE DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE THAT WAS SUDGESTED PROBALLY WOULDNT HURT EITHER.
