constant nausea

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes. They tried 2 different meds and the worked a little, but not enough to control my sugar levels. The doctor has now put me on insulin.Throughout this whole time,i have and continue to remain nauseated. My levels are still not coming down too much.Any idea?

p.s i forgot to say re nausea, have you checked to see if you have ketones? they can cause what you describe.you can buy cheap urine testing strips at pharmacy and the next time your blood sugar is very high wee on the stick! if it shows ketones you need to let your doc know, there are things you need to do to get rid of them and you should feel better, take care louise

you must have type 2? sounds like you have some insulin resistance to me. my young daughter has type 1 for 7 yrs she has some resistance too. they tried adding in an oral diabetes med on top of her insulin, that helped. exercise is good for reducing resistance and just being extra good with what you eat, go for stuff that is low G.I its a great way to help your blood sugars. good luck, louise
