Hi, I am a little unclear as to the question you are asking, could you please elaborate?
I, too, am very surprised. I am a type 1 diabetic and have lived in California and had no problem getting a drivers license. I suggest that you ask to speak to the issuer's supervisor.
I looked up the DMV for California:http://www.dmv.org/ca-california/disabled-drivers.php
It does not list diabetes as a disability or an impairment for driving. I have never heard of a person not able to get their drivers license due to diabetes.
I recommend finding out who exactly issued you the letter and for what grounds it was issued. I wonder if it was a mistake or someone was misinformed in that office.
Did you try contacting your local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation chapter at www.jdrf.org. Maybe if you go on the site you can find some help with your problem. Or go to the American Diabetes Association website. Maybe you will find some useful information there.
well i tried to get my drivers liscense and they called me from the dmv in sacramento and asked me a series of questions. like do you drink do drugs take your medicine etc and i dont drink or any of that and i always take my insulin. then about a month later the mailed me a letter saying that my license is suspended due to diabetes mellitus.i even had my doc write a letter saying that i could. I was wondering on what you recomend to do dealing with that
