lol WaveRider you are right on that. My body always tells me when something is not right so I have to remember to listen well and I don't care how old I am I still have to remind myself from time to time about how delicate the system can be.
This week I have been just having tea and I feel back on track. Only two cups a day. My sugar levels certainly feel more balanced and my food cravings are lessened. I have less cravings for something sweet to bounce my sugar levels back.
"but I don't always like my body's answer"
I had to re-educate my brain to listen to my body and not force my body to listen to my brain.
Herbal teas I guess would be the best solution as they are naturally decaffeinated and not chemically decaffeinated like coffee. And I suppose it would be based on the individual too... if I am noticing a fluctuation on how I feel then I should limit it. Argh common sense, but I don't always like my body's answer lol
"I feel like my sugar stays more balanced if I don't have coffee"
Testing glucose b4 and after provides an insight how caffeine affects your levels. The amount consumed is what matters too. Having spoken to several Endo's on this subject all have stated less than 2 cups - coffee or tea - daily is acceptable. Also, caffeine can bring about nausea on an empty stomach. Why not switch to decaffeinated?
Thanks for the comment back. I feel like my sugar stays more balanced if I don't have coffee, but it's also hard not to with fatigue. Teas don't seem to affect me as bad caffeine wise, but I have to eat something with it or it makes me feel sick.
Not in my experience. However, I am not a big coffee drinker, two cups before breakfast.
