Why are feet affected so much with individuals who have Diabetes? I have a problem with my Right big toe. It will not heal no matter what I do. I am curious why the healing process is taking so much longer since I have become a diabetic.

Controlling BG (as close to under 140 all the time as you can get)  will stop the progression of complications and can allow your body to repair the damage (if not too extensive) done by high BG

Google search 'diabetic neuropathy' [damage to a single nerve or group of nerves]. DN will occur when blood sugar levels are left uncontrolled and unmanaged. Also, take the time to educate yourself on diabetes. You will find high blood sugars levels leaves a diabetic more prone to infections and slow healing. Better control of your levels and lifestyle management is needed. Good luck -

the nerves that go to the feet are the longest so damage to nerves shows up sooner.  same for blood and blood vestals.
