Different reading on different fingers

I have decided to start monitoring my BG in anticipation on having Gestational Diabetes.  I had it with my last pregnancy and I believe I will get it again this time....

I have been testing every two hours after a meal, and noticed that the levels vary from finger to finger.  The difference being 10 or higher.

Has anyone experienced this?

Hi,

I guess kat may not get your message cause it is so long since she posted.

I am 33 weeks pregnant and have GD.  I was actually diagnosed at about 6 weeks (so probably it was preexisting, though my doc had monitored before that and it never showed up - so diet and exercise controlled).  I went on insulin by about 16 weeks.

Are you on insulin, or diet controlled.

My insulin requirements were pretty consistent up to about 30 weeks, but in the last 3 weeks the requirement has markedly increased.  My doc says this is normal, and my bs levels tend to fluctuate a lot more.

You will also find that your levels vary a lot depend on what and how much you eat.

Don't worry too much about the fluctuations, what you are looking for is the overall pattern.

What are your target BS levels?  Mine are 95 fasting and 120 2 hours after eating.

Happy to share, please ask more qs.

Yes I am having the same problem, I am 32 week pregnant, lots of pricking and erratic results and diabetes nurse says that 15% differences are OK but it is really bothering me, she suggested to ***** the sides of fingers not the tips, hope it helps you. O' I checked the date of your post....your baby has already come to this world :) please tell me your experience with GD
Thanks
