What Should I Do?

I had a question...I resently have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was put on Metfomin, 500mg 2 times a day. And so far I don't feel like it has helped me at all. The side effects that I got from Metformin have not gone away yet, I still have nausea, I'm never hungry, and to top it all off my BG levels are still very high even with my diet. I have been taking it for about 2 months now, but I don't know if i should go see my doctor already or keep waiting for the whole 3 months he prescribed the pills for. What should I do?

"So would yall still suggest that I go to my doctor already or keep waiting...?!?"
No one on this forum has suggested waiting. You need to see your doctor asap.

When I say that my BS levels are still high I get up to 260 or higher...and the main thing that is also happening is that it makes my head hurt. Even when my BS is at a good level my head will hurt so bad which I read is also a side affect. And this doesn't work very good when you work in customer service. (when i say my head hurts they feel kind of like a migrain(dont know if thats how you spell it). So would yall still suggest that I go to my doctor already or keep waiting...?!?

Metformin is a widely prescribed diabetes medication but not everyone can tolerate its side effects. One side effect of Metformin is nausea. To hep prevent nausea take Metformin with food. Contact your doctor if nausea persists. Ask for another oral diabetes medication.

You cannot rely solely on drugs to lower your blood glucose levels. Fortunately, your health can be improved by making simple, consistent changes to your lifestyle -  "diabetic diet", maintaining normal weight and daily physical exercise.

Hi,

if the metformin and diet haven't had impact on your blood sugar levels after 2 months, I think you should go back to see your doctor already.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by very high?  Had there been any drop in bs with the metformin, or no change at all?

I also have nausea.  When my BG way too low then I feel very hungry.  Otherwise, I feel very full.  Just thirsty but also not hungry.  I thought it is good if you're not feeling hungry.  It is the way can reduce weight.

Metformin use to have a long history for diabetes.  I bet everyone was started with Metformin if being diagnosed as a type II diabetes.  May be it is for the rest of their life.  It didn't work for me.  Only the side effect which it worked pretty well.
