What will happen no exercise and use tobacco dip while taking jauncmet oral ?

My husband has diabetic . He had weight loss without execrise. He thought he drink lot of water will get rid of high sugar level.he doesn't excerise and use tobacco dip skoals. Does it effect sugar high?  Will the medicine help him without execrise and use dip ?

Hello,

with his blood sugar as high as 400 his body is unable to use what he eats.  He doesn't need janumet, he needs insulin.  

There is no way he should lose more weight and for his doctor to tell him to lose more weight means he is not looking at him.  He should be eating a low carb diet (no mountain dew or junk food) and he needs insulin.

Sorry to be harsh, but your husband may well die soon (in weeks to months) if he can't get his blood sugars under control.  In fact with blood sugars at 400 you could go to the emergency room and they will treat him with insulin (I recommend this).  Normal blood sugar is in the range of 80 - 120.  Your husband is more than 3x this.

I strongly recommend you find a new doctor who will take your husbands condition seriously and recommend him appropriate treatment (insulin, diet control).  Exercise can also be helpful, but while his blood sugars are so high, it may not be safe.

I am not an MD  BUT he cold be a T1 Type 1 diabetic the ONLY thing that controls BG in a T1 is Insulin!  weight loss is usualy a sign of T1 He could be LADA  (Late onset T1). from what you describe he is in need of medical help. He needs a "GAD" test for antibodies.

His BG is too high he will have complications from diabetes.  he doesnt need to diabetes is controllable.  BG of 400 is very bad normal BG never goes over 140.  he need proper medical help.

He didn't try weight loss just happened weight loss fast two years ago . He feels that weight loss is more slow. He never eat diet food. That s strange . I can't understand why dr didn't pay attention his weight and thought that weight loss is very good for him but it s something wrong with him. I read and research rapid weight loss from diabetic . What happen if he weight more loss. I can see him almost no muscles legs . He feels fine . I don't know if it's normal. He said my body start more saggy skin like old age. He need execrise and never eat diet and always lay couch watching tv three hours and sleep three hours nap  . He told me he ate Swiss mushroom hamburger at burger king . He doesn't eat three meal a day . He barely ate fruit .  I wish I know the answer if he is okay with weight loss.. Or he needs more test. His blood work looks good but 400 BG and 325 trig. That s all . U think pancreas is about running out of sugar? Need strong medicine for that?

was he trying to loose weight IE dieting or did the weight just come off?

it can take a while to get diabetes under control, it wont happen over night.

He may need more/ different meds

He should be tested for type 1 diabetes.

He did lost lot of weight almost  Skelton . That s mean he needs to lose more weight down to 130? He is medium frame bone 5-11. I can see his bony legs that I never see him before.  But his BG and trig are still high .

Carbohydrates raise BG  if he is going to drink Mountain due he is Going to have high BG

Its the carbohydrates in fast food that raise BG

exercise is good but not required for a medicine to work, just means you need more medicine to do the job.

They make diet mountain dew I know it taste bad but he can get used to it.  I cant stand the taste of reg Coke now

Loosing weight will help so will NOT eating so many carbs

Dr just gave him new medicine jaunmet oral . Before was metiform but sugar level won't down over 400! And 325 trigcylride .  I read the new medicine. Require to execrise but he doesn't execrise . Do u think the sugar will not go down bec he still eat fast food and drink mountain drew  and water  skoals.. He loss weight from 240 to 170 but sugar shows still high. Dr told him if he lose weight. Possible stop medicine but why the sugar shows still high?

water ia not a control for BG.
I dont know if they put sugar in Skol but tobacco by itself while not a healthful thing to do does not raise BG
What medicine is he on?
