dark blood?

has anyone had dark colored blood when testing?  i tested on both hands.  blood sugar is also very high, even with insulin shots.  i have a slight fever and headache.

Hi there!

Blood drawn from the veins is usually dark and has nothing to do with glucose levels. Most systemic causes such as infections may be associated with temporarily increased blood glucose levels. I would suggest consulting a primary care physician for a detailed evaluation regarding the fever and headache. After a cause is identified it can be managed accordingly. It might also be worthwhile to consult your endocrinologist for control of blood sugar levels.
