pls help!

Hi Doc, yesterday I go to clinic and check my diabetes level. 1.the doc use lancet to prick my blood I did not notice he got or not change the lancet if other people got hiv use it before me can I get hiv? 2.the doc take  my hand with blood to check it on a meter .I dunno the meter is clean or not and my hand with blood touch the machine meter can I get hiv? I am worry.thank you.

Hello,

Your Doctor will have used a new and sterile lancet to prick your finger.  This is standard practice.  

Your finger touched the machine, but strip / test point is also new and only used by you.  They also clean the machine regularly.

Do not worry.  THere is no risk of HIV from this test / procedure.
