I'm very sorry to hear about your mother, as well. We're all here to help in any way we can.
First off, let me say how sorry I am to hear about your mother. An aunt, for whom I cared, for several years, passed away last year from cancer; it's a hard thing to deal with. Thoughts and prayers are with you, your mother and your whole family.
Just tell us what you'd like us to do.
It would appear that you're doing some emotional eating, so the first thing you have to do, is try to counter that. Whenever you get ready to reach for food, the first question you should ask is: Am I really hungry? If the answer is even a "maybe not", then don't eat; find something else to occupy your time/mind until the urge to eat is past. It should only take about 10 minutes.
If you're really hungry, take a look at "what" you're eating. Is it a healthy meal with plenty of protein and veggies, or is it Big Mac and fries or apple fritter from Dunkin Donuts? Then look at how much you're eating... is it a single portion or are you eating several portions in one sitting?
My mom also has cancer & i also need to loosea lot of weight maybe if we have someone to share our progress with it will make it easier.
