A hiatal hernia can cause chest pain and pain in the shoulders and arms. The Vagus nerve runs along the stomach, esophagus and the heart. It causes the pain in the shoulder and arm like with a heart attack. When the hiatal hernia is acting up, it can cause the same sypmtoms of a heart attack. Your cardiologist has ruled out heart disease. Extra heart beats are harmless. You probably are experiencing acid reflux even though the endoscopy didn't show it. You probably weren't having reflux at the time of the test. The prilosec should help. If it doesn't, there is surgery to correct the problem. Talk to your Gastroenterologist. Good luck! Erik
Hi, this is too anyone who will answer.
I have been having chest pain, sometimes into shoulder and back, heart rate goes up and down, was sent by a cardiologist. He said that I did have couple of extra beats from top and bottom of heart and that my heart paused 82 times during 24 hour period. That I did have mild triscupid leak. Anyway, was sent to a gastrologist, he thought I had GERD, since I do throw up every now and then, had the endoscope done, he says no signs of gerd, so I have now had ultrasound, a doctor said that I had a small sliding hiatal hernia.(about 3 years ago) My question is can a hiatal hernia cause your heart rate to go up and down and will it show up on ultrasound,? The other question is can the hiatal hernia cause your chest to hurt up into your shoulder and arm and/or back? And at times just feel that there is so much pressure at the top of the tummy into the chest at bottom of breastbone? the tummy doctor didn't say that it showed up on the endocope. Thanks.
My penis is very small please help!
Dee,
Thanks for taking the time to find out what is going on!
Its appreciated.
I sent a message to the people in charge of these forums asking about the lack of answers on this forum....they were very nice and told me the doctor that answers questions on this forum had been away on vacation for several weeks, but he was coming back very soon and would be catching up. Dee
I think the patient to patient interaction is very helpfull.
I am going to guess that they are maby having $$ trouble??
This is a "not for profit" service so maby funding is an issue.
It would be nice if they posted a notice or something though....
