10m old dog

My dog is a 10m german shepard/hound mix and i can't take him anymore....he is crate trained at night and when we are not home because otherwise he destroys my house. I take him outside every hour and he comes in and poops or pees in the house we tried scrubbing the carpets to get the smell out hoping that would help it didn't my daughter is now crawling and i do not need her crawling through pee or poop also he will take food right off the table or stove chews everything the other day he took my husband sandwich right off his lap i'm not sure how to punish him for any of it i was putting him in the cage for a few min for a time out and my dad said not to do that and thats not working anyways any advice on how to deal with him thank you

You could try also posting this in the Animal Health forum. Questions in that forum are answered by very knowledgeable vets.
