Help my 6yrs Chihuahua please!!

I took my dog to the vet Tuesday to get his rabies shot & anal glan cleaned. After the vet I noticed my dog won't move so I called the vet & they said it was normal after the rabies shot. Later on that night I took him out on go potty but he couldn't move his legs & he wouldn't stand on his own. Yesterday he ate a little but he still couldn't stand up. So I took him back in today, the nurse weighed and she also noticed he wouldn't stand up so she took him in the back. The doctor came in the room with him & I notice she was shaking and a little nervous. She told me while they were doing the anal glan cleanse he could've slip a disc or they hit a nerve and that he was paralyzed but he still has feeling in his legs. She sent us home with some prednisone and is he doesn't walk in a couple days to bring him back? What should I do about his bowel movelment? And what is the next step?

OMG!! Don't worry about the poop. When he is ready, he will unload. If not the vet can give him pills, or an enema. I would be more concerned about whether or not they screwed up and can fix it. Especially if the nurse was nervous. Is there more than one vet at that office, or anywhere you can get another opinion? Prednisone should work. I'll be prayin for you and your baby. And bring him back regardless!!!

Next step, I would say, would be to get a second opinion.  This sounds like somthing abnormal for a simple anal sac drainage and rabies shot.  I used to work for a vet, and never saw the types of symptoms from what you describe.  Blessings - Blu

I would get it in writing ASAP what they did with your dog, Then i would get a 2nd opinion, if its true I would get a lawyer because that dog will need a LOT of physical therapy and poss a wheelchair!!! Squeezing an anal gland wont hurt a dog unless they were rough with it!!
