Can my dog have a stomach flu?

Lately my 1 year old Chihuahua, Dakota, hasn't been himself.  Every morning he would be the first one to want to run outside and play, but lately i have to draghim out of his cage. Also I have noticed that he hasn't been eating, I would even try and give him his treats, but he just leaves them there. The weather has been changing as well. Also about two days ago,  it seemed like he had greenish diarrhea. But since then I haven't seen anything else. I'm just worried about him,  does anyone know what can be wrong? And what can I do as his mom to comfort and make him feel better?

Hello Nat....You should be worried and You shouldn't wait any longer for treatment.....3 days is too long for a Tiny Chi to recover on it's own....Dehydration and/or hypoglycemia are common in these little ones and can be fatal quickly.....Please call your Vet right now and get him in.....He can't wait any longer....It would be impossible for us to diagnose him over an online forum although I wish we could! Make the call, now.....Good luck and let us know what you find out.....Karla

Take him to the vet as soon as possible.  Those little guys can't 'handle' sickness like big dogs.  Your little one needs nutrition, and he isn't getting any.  This is alarming.

Take him to the vet. Dogs don't usually have bacterial or viral infections like the stomach flu that make them sick. It takes a lot for them to stop eating, so he should be evaluated to make sure he hasn't ingested a foreign body or gotten into any toxins. He should also have a stool sample checked to make sure he doesn't have any worms that are causing a GI upset and diarrhea.
