Suddenly scared

I have a 3y/o chihuahua/cocker spaniel mix, and this morning she started acting scared and shacking. She wanted to just hide under the table or in her cage and didn't want to come out. I offered her a treat and she came out. I took her out and she did her business, I brought her back and took my other dog out and she ran out of the house and was found by a neighbor (thank god). It lasted about 30 minutes. Both dogs grew up together and they go out 2-3 times a day. 5-20 minutes at a time. Any suggestions as to why she is acting like this suddenly and is there anything I can do to help her.

Welcome to the forum....In my experience, these symptoms are a result of PAIN! Could be a tooth, spinal issue, stomach, anal sacs, to name a few, etc. However, she seems to be in distress, so I wouldn't wait much longer...She needs to see her Vet! Let us know what you find out....Karla

Hard to tell without observation but take it this is a new and recent behavior?  Could have a number of causes and I can mention a few that may apply.
Anything new inside the house?
Anything going on outside like workers around, construction, new neighbors or animals, kids?
Has anything scared her lately?
Any changes in the household routine?
Dogs, especially little ones, can exhibit this behavior if they are constipated, have stomach issues or as simple as anal sack issues, really.
Worst case scenario is if she is in pain as they will often show these signs.
If it continues, with no obvious causes, I would take her in for a check up.
Good luck and please update.
