sk123-- I am defiantely keeping momma dog, we have named her delilah. As for any of the pups, my oldest wants to keep one of them that he has grown very fond of. I am back and forth on whether or not I will let him. I have to find homes for all the other pups and the other dog that I rescued 3/4 months ago. Yes, this is something I tend to do and around Christmas, 4th of July, and New Year many dogs are dumped near our home because we live in the country near a lake.
Holliee-- I have sent you a message, but I would like to let everyone know I am doing good. I do appreciate all the kind words and advice all have given me. No, the lady has not even attempted to contact me over these animals and at this point she will owe me quite a bit of money if she wants any of them back.
Everyone else-- I have pictures available for all to see them!
So I was thinking of you and all those puppies today and wondering how you and them were doing> Has that lady ever said anything about them to you or fact that your taking care of them... Hope they find great and loving homes.. God Bless you and fur babies

You're so kind for taking these dogs in. I'm sure you'll find them lovely homes. Have you decided if you're keeping any of them?
It's funny how dogs can be a heck of a lot more understanding and intelligent than some Humans.......
I'd count that momma dog and her pups now as your best friends. You other best friend sounds like he doesn't understand you.
well I think what you did is great and your a good woman and your best friend is lucky to have you. You did that for little animals cant imagine what you would do for friend,,,
For all that have been so wonderful in responding to this touchy situation, I have posted three pictures of the momma dog on my profile page. My camera phone is not the best so the pictures are dark but you can get an idea of what she looks like.
The pups and momma have been wormed as well as my original two dogs, since they are in the yard with them. The puppies no longer have bloated tight feeling bellies or moan constantly. Their gums are nice and pink, and they are not eating as much! They are very playful now and full of energy and love. They are now ready for good homes!
Because of their situation I am going to be very picky on who they go to. I do not want anyone to take them on a whim...(spelling) I want thought put into it. That way I know they will be cared for and not dumped when the cuteness wears off.
I will have good pictures of momma and pups on here soon! That way everyone can see what beautiful little puppies they are!
Oh by the way, I also want to thank everyone for so much support and kind words... My best friend wasnt' so kind when he found out that I took in all these animals and what I am paying to get them healthy. Granted I am not well off or rich in anyway... matter of fact I qualify for the poor status..lol.. but I feel that I am making it and it isn't much more that I am putting out and I can not stand to see any animal suffer! I wish he understood that!
I just want to say that you are truly a wonderful woman and I am so thankful that you were there for momma and babies. That woman she own up to the fact the they are here's an at least tell you that she don't wont them etc.... I cant believe that no one will help you that is so sad... You have a good heart and that momma knows that is why she brought her puppies to you for they would have more than likely died... I am an animal lover and can't believe what people do to animals. Please keep us posted on momma and babies. I wish you the best....
Good for you!
Something will provide. You will be all OK. You know how I know? Because your heart is in the right place. You are an angel.
I called every Humane Society and rescue society in my area and apparently because I leave in the out-skirts of town I am not protected by any of these places. They do not help us we are out of their jurisdiction. The humane society told me that i could "surrender" the mom and pups but I would have to pay $45 a piece to do so. Heck that is more than the dog food!
I have tried several times to get in touch with this lady and she will not speak with me. I am posting found signs in town and in the local paper and if no one responds in a week they are legal mine. In the meantime the pups can not wait for that long to be wormed. They have round worms in their poop and not just a few but a pile of them. Sorry to be grafic for those weak at stomach. I plan to go to the feed store and pick up puppy wormer to get them through until I get paid again.
I would like to say that i really admire what you have done for the momma and babies. It is so nice to know that there are wonderful loving people such as yourself in this world. As far as i know if she has not made any claims to the mother up to this time,Then you have the right to make decisions as if they where rescue.I am sure that you could call a local vet, shelter or rescue in your area and they would be able to help you out more.Good luck and please keep us posted.God Bless You
Yes, that's what I feel about it. She probably has found a good excuse to disown that momma-dog and those puppies. She probably didn't take enough responsibility for her dog in the first place, and now she's had pups, the lady doesn't want the added problems, costs, etc.
How mean can people be?
It is so good of you to help them, of course anyone with a heart would do the same, but still...
That momma-dog does indeed know that you are OK and safe haven for her young ones. Dogs are no way stupid.
But those pups will all need new homes in a couple of months anyway. Sometimes keeping the mother with one or two of the pups works out fine, but the others will need re-homing.
But it does sound as though you would be free to make major decisions on behalf of the dogs. Sounds like it, but not sure...It would actually be better if you could speak to that lady, face-to-face about the dogs, in as friendly a way as you can, so you may have a better position if she suddenly changes her mind? See if you can get it all out in the open. So she won't come back to you at a later date, and accuse you of dog-napping her pups!
Sometimes Human Nature can be fickle. Dog nature never is....If you do decide to take on that dog and one/two? pups (whatever) I feel sure you would have a friend (friends?) for life.
It sounds like she doesn't want the dog. Wow, sticky situation. I'm so glad you were there to take care of her and her puppies. Maybe you should take them to a shelter? I'm sure they could get the puppies adopted out. I'd at least call the shelter and get their advice. Maybe you could adopt the dog yourself. I'm not sure what the best route here is but I wish you luck! You are the dog's angel. God bless you for caring!
