For anyone who's dog is acting distressed...

One day after my  five-year-old mixed breed dog, Toboe, ate breakfast, he vomited instantly. He ate some grass and vomited again. He was throwing up until nothing but saliva and the water he had been drinking all day came up. He stopped eating. The next morning he refused to eat or drink, and lay on his side immobile for hours before getting up and drinking just a little bit. I needed help getting him to the vet because I have no car. My family at first refused, claiming it was just a bug and that he'd be fine within a few days. A fight broke out because I insisted that something must be really wrong and I NEEDED help getting him to a doctor. My dad finally, but unwillingly, agreed. An X-ray later we found out there was a huge rock sitting in the lowest part of his gut. The surgery cost me almost a grand (all the money I had saved up from my first job- I'm 19), but without it, he would have lasted probably two or three more days before his intestine perforated and the resulting infection killed him. He's lying next to me now as I type this, and I'm so glad I acted before it was too late. I felt that it would be a good idea to share his symptoms with you guys in case one of your dogs was having similar problems.

I am so glad Toboe is ok now, and you acted so fast and so determinedly to help him. Good dog-mom!
Blockages are dangerous things. It's a good job he got the treatment he needed or he would have died a horrible death.
I hope ths helps someone else to make a note of the symptoms of a blockage and to act fast like you did.
