Great Pyrenees- Is He Purebred?

In a few days, I'll be on my way to Kentucky to pick up this handsome boy.
He was purchased as a puppy by a woman who, after a few months, decided she couldn't care for him. She gave him to her dad and after a few more months, he realized a Great Pyrenees would not flourish in an apartment.
He's about 1 year old now and he's 100lbs. I've been in contact with a few breeders and for the most part they believe he is purebred. Some were concerned by the lack of dew claws on his hind legs, but they said his owners may not have known that was a trademark of the breed and had them removed. One said he could be part Maremma Sheepdog or Akbash dog. Golden Retrievers and Labs are commonly bred with Pyrs in my area but the breeders told me he seems too big to be mixed with either of those.
Whether or not he's purebred doesn't affect my adopting him, I'm just curious.
I'm not sure if I can add multiple pictures, so for now, here's one.

Boy,big responsibility!  Any chance the owner has a pedigree and is he registered with AKC?
Actually, if you are that curious, there are places that will do DNA testing.

Handsome dog, hope you have some idea/experience with taking care of a 100 pound dog.  The food alone will run a bundle.  Further, large dogs typically have sorter lives.  Don't know the breed but I be surprised if life expectancy is over 10 years.

We had a large Golden Retriever and a large property.  He was a great dog and lived for 12 years.  He was closer to 90 pounds and not fat, just big.
