Urgent help- Please save my baby

Hi All,

I have a 7 yr old labrador- Caesar. He was having tick fever(as the vet says) around 2 months back, wherein I know that he has never had ticks in the past coz I keep checking on that. He sailed through that, but since 15 days it is not eating food properly.

Initial symptoms:

1. lazy
2. not eating food
3. slightly limping on front right leg
4. dark yellow urine

Now, the urine color is back to normal but the stools are black. His belly is swollen since a week..We got the ultrasound done but the vet could not understand exactly..sometimes he said liver has enlarged, sometimes it has fibrosis, cirhhosis and the other day he was saying it was shrunk. However, the belly keeps on being swollen.
He eats a few glucose biscuits in a day, banana n sweet bun are his favourites. That is all. Thankfully, he is drinking water well and urinating properly now.

His current medication:

1. Antibiotic
2. Diuretic
3. Tablet to stop blood passing through stools
4. Liver treatment- Hepamarz
5. For liver- Udiliv
6. B-Complex capsules
7.Alpha lipoic acid, methylcobalmine something . vitamins supplement
8. Systone

Also, neuhapatax injection is applied at alternate days.

Please suggest if anything else could be done. I seriously cannot see my Caesar's belly swelling going down. His blood tests are normal as well.
Please help me to save his life..I want him to stay with me..plsss...his eyes are not yellow and no signs of jaundice. Now we are going to start silymarin as well.
He is playful now..goes out with me to have walk(within house premises-not on street). I look into his eyes n he still has the glow in them..he looks at me with so much of love, wags his tail n poor baby does not even know what is happenning..just lets us do everything for him.

Please all..request you to pls give me your valuable inputs to save him :(

Sorry you and your dog are suffering so.... it is very hard when a loved pet (the only pet I know about) is sick.

From what I read you seem to have some doubts about what the vet is doing and prescribing.  There is no way I can second guess that expert source.

Did you mention blood tests?  I'm sure you did it seems my dog gets a blood test almost every time I take him to the vet with a health problem, which is about every 6 months.

The only experience I have learned lately, with our current dog, is they can have allergies and I suppose some can crop up in dogs that didn't have them before.

That noted, be very careful what you feed you dog, the wrong food can cause a lot of problems.   If you feed Kibble, a no grain may help some, some dogs have problems digesting grains and can even have an allergic reaction.

I am not trying to send you down another path, but I did want to reply to let you know "we" are reading and the lack of replies is because "we" don't have any way to give an answer... just give hope maybe and to thank you for working so hard to save your dog.
