This is good news. Yes, photos of the burns might be useful for when the court trial comes up.
Oh that is so good he is getting better ,you must have done a great job not letting the skin dry out.Once again the bravery of our dogs shines through, Some dogs are more stoic than others,he would know that you are helping him.
Its great that your Mum is around to to help you.I am a bit shocked that your EX friend is in Jail they do not do that in Aus.... pity.
Did the Authorities come to see your dog and have you got photo's of his burns???.
sincerely Joan.
a update on patches: The vet. would not take him because I couldn't pay up front GRRRRRRRR and they claim to love animals ha ha . as far as the person who did this it was a friend that i trusted and is no longer a friend , I also called animal control on her. Where I live you can go to jail for animal neglect and abuse and those are the charges brought up on her. She is awaiting trial in our county jail as we speak. I have been treating patches at home and my mom who is a registered nurse has graciously provided all the medical supplies for him. He is happy and doing well no infection and tissue is regenerating very well. He is eating , drinking and sleeping good and back to wagging his tail and smiling like his old self...he even tried to catch a June bug today , which tells me he is in less pain. thank god. I will keep you all informed until he is 100% better thank you all for your advice support and most of all your prayers.
Hmm I do not feel magnanimous as you Ginger revenge would be very much on my mind.
Anyone got a Tree and a Rope.No !! ok barbed wire will do.
The suggestion about some legal come-back is not meant as a revenge-thing, but just so they might realize what they have done, and hopefully learn a harsh lesson.
If the person who looked after him does this for money ..... inform your Vet he should know who you can complain to.... in Aus its the RSPCA.
How is he going anyway ? please let us know when you can.
Poor dog! I hope he's ok. This definitely is severe sunburn. I honestly would like to string up the people who did this to him, or rather allowed the sun to do this to him. I'm so sorry you and he had to go through this ordeal. It's dreadful! That people you trusted to look after him could do this.....
I wonder if there is any legal stuff you could hit them with? Something like "Causing unnecessary suffering to an animal"??
Its a shame about the witch hazel it really helped his pain but I wont use that anymore or any food thank you so much ... and i will give him a kiss and cuddle. eta 2hrs and counting down.
Just came back on .No more witch Hazel as it is drying, just cold water, take the wet towel with you,to see the Vet that will ease the pain alone for now, Apart from that you are doing well,no more food just in case they need to sedate him.
Thank You so much for keeping in touch Poor little guy he really is brave bless him! give him a big kiss and cuddle from me.
Its 7pm here in Australia.
sincerely Joan. hear from you soon.
Thank you so much for being prompt its almost 2am where iam at so I will have to wait , I live in a small town where there is no 24hr emergency vet. Grrrr but I will be awake with him and keep his wounds moist till early morning when i will take him in. Thank you so much you are an answer to a prayer , god bless you.
Update on patches status : Most of his bumps are gone minus two very small ones on his head , the large one on the back of his neck (this is the one where his fur fell off and is 3rd degree) and three dime to nickel sized ones on his bottom. he is wagging his tail and smiling again and ate a few lamb bones( I dripped witch hazel over his bad burns to dull his pain) eta for veterinarian is 4hrs and counting down
It sounds like third degree burns the severest form of sunburn. If so get to the Vet ASAP and as for that person who did this send them them the bill and a mouthfull.
In the meantime put a wet towel on him and keep it wet DO NOT let the skin dry out until you get to your Vet he will treat him with painkillers and something like Cortisone cream to take away inflammation.
You must get him in as soon as possible. and keep the skin cool and damp as it will soon heat up again.
keep in touch .
