My dog's eye

I have an 11 year old chow chow male and his right eye is swellon and looks as if the eye in getting inwards he does not shows signs of distress but it looks painful what can I do?

thank you very much for your concern my baby is opening his eye and we spoke with his doctor he gave me some directions in what to do with it and then to bring him in which i will do. the dr said it may have been allergy, or a form of eye disease that chow chows get so he will run some tests and until then we are greatful that we notice in time.. thank you medhelp

It sounds like a condition called "Cherry Eye". Dogs have a third eyelid that can become irritated and cause swelling like this. It also could be an insect bite or an infection. You will need to take him to the Vet for a final diagnosis.
