Chewing and sleeping through the night

I have two questions. I have two toy puddles who turned a year old in March. I was wondering how long the chewing stage tends to last? We try to be careful to keep things picked up off the floor but I can't count how many of my son's little toys I've caught the puppies chewing on and ruined. It doesn't help that I have a cat who tends to knock things off tables and counters so even if my son puts things up they tend to get knocked down. I do try to be careful and provide them with chew toys, etc. but I keep catching them with a half eaten dinasaur or other small toy, ugh. Fortunately, they don't seem to chew on furniture or cords, they just seem to like his toys!

The second question is why they are not sleeping through the night??? I have them go potty around 10pm-11pm or so, right before I go to bed, then put them in their crate for the night. They have a blanket and a couple of soft dog toys to sleep with in their. I keep them and the crate in the kitchen where it's quieter. They go right in and settle down to sleep until sometime in the middle of the night (anywhere between 2am-4am) I wake up to crying and whining and scratching. I think it's just one puppy who is doing this but she wakes the other one. I've tried to ignore it but she will esculate in sound till I get up and let her out. She does run right out and go potty so it appears she needs to go. I go ahead and make them both go out but it seems to only be the one who needs to get up in the middle of the night. I don't want them waking up the whole household so I have been getting up to let them out but I'm so tired all the time anymore because I cannot get a full night's sleep, ever! I've thought about just letting them sleep with me because the few times my daughter was sick in the past few months she slept on the couch and let the puppies sleep with her. Those few times were the only times they slept all through the night!

How do I get them to sleep through the night and when will they stop chewing on stuff?

Thanks ginger. I guess I could ask the vet on here or something. I  just thought there might be others who have had puppies and/or toy poodles who could give me some advice.

Hopefully, given enough time they will settle down.

I wish I could help. But I know very little about owning a puppy! Both my dogs came to me when they were older.
It's interesting that they slept through the night when they slept with your daughter. It seems they were reassured by human company. I just wonder....could it have been her body-warmth? If so, maybe a hot water bottle under their blanket might help?

All I will say is if you decide to make that move (letting them sleep with you) that's it! You will always have to do it! If they start off young sleeping with the humans, they will always want to, and it will be very hard to break it.

Sorry I'm not much use. I hope someone else has better ideas!
