Our boxer died suddenly today

My question is what would cause a 8 and1/2 year old boxer to die suddenly? We had this happen this afternoon and have already buried her and did not get a necropsy done. In exploring her yard we found fresh feces from today with alot of green grass in it and the dog looked like it had bit her tongue before she passed. We did not think she had been sick but had not eaten all of her food from today it was still in her bowl. Really will not know what to do without her now. We have had her since 6wks old. We are totally devasted. If anyone could give possible clues we would appreciate it so much. Thank You Kathy Miller in TX

So very sad.  We seem to be seeing a few of these type if posts lately.
My first thought was a seizure also. The fact that she had been eating grass "may" indicate she invested something that made her sick.
So sorry for your loss.

Tongue-biting suggests a seizure at the time of death, which suggests something went wrong in her brain, which suggests she had an internal fatal event, or ate something that caused it.  And maybe I'm wrong.  I'm sorry about the loss of your furbaby.  Blessings - Blu
