Swollen stomach

9yr old f desexed chihuahua , taken to vet 3 times now still the same .swollen abdomen upper part not so much lower part,no pain, no diarrhoea,no vomiting ,no constipation has gas and gurgling stomach ,used to be small eater fussy would leave food in bowl if full,not over weight ,now is hungry all the time seeks out food all the time obsessed.1 changed to vet food sensitive stomach,2 put on antibiotics. 3 rd visit I took stool,tested found coccidiosis put on different antibiotic 1 dose 14 days later 2nd dose two weeks later still the same no improvement same symptoms doesn't seem in pain / not usual self sits alone a lot usually on my.i read that coccidia usually doesn't affect older dogs unless there is an underlying illness could there be something else wrong ?any advice would help  Thanks :)

Did the vet offer or did you allow the vet to run bloodwork or perform an abdominal xray or ultrasound? Those are the next step(s) for getting any sort of answer.

I assume, and you may have said, was the dog tested for stomach parasites (worms)?  The sudden increase in appetite and bloating would seem to point to something wrong in the stomach.

Had to second guess a vet that has seen and treated the dog on two visits so I can't offer any other ideas.
