My 14 year old Pomeranian who suffered an acute Congestive Heart Failure episode in February, only to find that the medications revealed kidney disease, has been doing pretty well since his hospitalization for rehydration in early March. My main concern was his fussiness. This week, he actually gained 2 ounces and his appetite has been much better - though we have been giving him tastier foods - roast chicken instead of boiled, for example.
Anyway, yesterday and today has had had some episodes of syncope. He doesn't seem to lose consciousness and they are quick - some stumbling and then a fall, lasting less than 10 seconds. He looks scared afterwards - it is heart-breaking for me and I am very worried. His vet suggested a cardiologist, which we will go to, but I am running out of hope. I know he doesn't have long. Does anyone have any experience with syncope? What can I expect? Thank you!
