White Spot On Dog's Nose

Hi everyone! My unaltered 2yr old male Golden Retriever/Catahoula mix has suddenly lost pigmentation on a spot on his nose. When I first noticed it I thought perhaps it was a scar from roughhousing with his sister, but I'm not totally sure as I don't remember him having that serious of a nose injury. It's not irritated or anything and doesn't seem to bother him. I read some things about Vitiligo in dogs, and I must note that he does in fact have some places in his red topcoat where the fur grows white, but I always thought that was from his Catahoula mother. I've attached a pic of the spot, what do you guys think?

Could be Vitiiligo.  Could be a number of things, really.  Any chance you are using plastic dishes for feeding?  If so, switch to stainless steel or ceramic.  Some dogs have reactions to plastic.
I think I would just keep an eye on it.  If the nose starts to look crusty or dry and cracked, you may need to get a biopsy done as it might be an immune disorder.

There is quite a bit of information abot dogs' noses losing pigment here:
http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/care/pinknosedog.htm

But it's hard to tel exactly what this one white spot is. Nowhere else on the nose (certainly doesn't look like 'pink nose' or 'snow nose')

I notice your dog has one blue eye and one brown one? I don't know if that has any bearing on this. Maybe he has some unusual genetic pigmentation, and this white spot which has just appeared is all part of that....I can't really say. Wish I could be of more help.

It might just be cosmetic. And if there is no soreness, flaking, or other problems with this, it might not be a health concern.
But the safest thing to do is to speak to your vet about it.
