For anyone with long-haired breeds of dogs, esp those that have gotten puppies from pet shops, shelters, back yard breeders, etc, please know that your dogs most likely have dewclaws (the nails on the side of the foot). They probably have them in front and may or may not have them on their back feet. I'm saying this because you have to make sure those nails keep trimmed or they may grow back into the pad and get infected. I say this because for the second time, a neighbor came over and asked me to look at their Llaso mix dog cause it was favoring a bag let. Looked through the hair and, sure enough, had a dew claw grown back into the pad and infected.
And, that is y tip for the day. LOL :-)
