She has Addison's Disease!
The people at NC State Veterinarian School were so helpful and caring.
What breed of dog is this?
Kidney Levels would have showed up on her blood work...Along w/Liver Enzymes.....Ask your original Vet for a copy of that bloodwork that was suppose to be Negative...You paid for it and it's yours....Get a copy to take to your new Vet or to view yourself....Something has to be off!
Has she been checked for Tick Disease? Is that possible in your area?
What flea/Tick product, Heartworm Medication, etc. do you use? Some of these will cause problems....
Other than that, what do you feed her? Let us know what happens...I'll be thinking about you...Karla
We are going to a different vet! Her back legs were so bad last night, that at 2am (I slept with her on the couch) she got up to go potty, and couldn't use them at ALL. I had to put her leash under her abdomen to help her walk....it is heart breaking....I called around 7:30 to the different vet to see what their plan of action is, but haven't gotten a call back. The only thing the idiot vet said was "I don't know, call us in the morning if you have questions." When I picked her up yesterday from getting IV fluids all day, she couldn't walk then and I asked why, and the doctor just looked at the vet tech for her to answer me. So frustrating.
I'm not really sure how she would have gotten poisoned, and her bloodwork would have reflected that...the only thing we have in our house that could be deemed poisonous is lawn fertilizer, and it says "safe for pets." And there's only a small slit open in the bag, not enough for her to stick her nose in, and none spilled (I checked).
They have not checked her kidneys, but I will bring that up when they call me back...
I would get another opinion...Sounds like renal failure to me...But I am not a vet just YEARS of experience or poision...
Have they checked kidneys?
She sounds like she's being poisoned to me.....Please, give that some serious thought.....Any other ideas or information would be helpful....Karla
Get her to a vet who knows what he's doing! Honestly, a vet who cannot diagnose your dog accurately should not be a vet. Blessings - Blu
