Puppy HELP

We adopted our puppy (Buffy) over 3weeks ago. When we first brought her home she had her little accidents when we are not home, which is Ok because she is a puppy and we leave her home by herself Mon-Thur. any where from 6-8hours.  But in the last week, when we have came home, we find that she is getting into everything. The 1st day she had got into and ate 2 dirty diaper’s and a pair of my son’s shoes, they I walk in to the other room, where there  “was” a gate to try and stop her from going in there, but didn’t work, she ate 2 other diaper’s that I had in a garbage bag (in my room) and also I had a pair of boots UNDER MY BED that she some how found and ate! Then today she did that same thing but also got  and ate my son’s toys and pacifiers, and not one  pair of shoes but two! And got into the garbage bag again!

I guess my question is why is she starting to do this? She was really good the 1st two weeks. Do you think its because she is starting to get comfortable? What is the “right” way to handle this? Should we lock her up during the day???

I should said that she is a puppy 6months old but is 50lbs!!

You should also "puppy proof" your home for a while. You pretty much have to pick up everything you don't want them to chew on or really watch them. They will get into everything! When Titus was a puppy, he would unroll all the toilet paper and drag it around our room-I had to shut that door!! He is also crate trained so when I am gone, he is safe. As for jumping, I had to use a squirt bottle (I would squirt him in the rear, not face) and firmly tell him no. Also, when I took him to training, he calmed down a lot.

Crate her.  Do some googling, but learn how to crate train, and do it.  Or confine her to a room that is small, such as the bathroom.

2 weeks is nothing in puppyhood.
