dogs eating blankets

hello.i work at a not for profit animal shelter. i don't have a question so much as a request for support.
recently the leadership of our rescue group has handed down an order that all dogs recieve blankets. this is causing me to loose a lot of sleep. Some of our dogs will shred and eat blankets yet we are NOT allowed to leave them without a blanket. they all have beds to get them off the ground and the floor in all runs is heated. I and my coworkers are at a consensus that it is just a matter of time before this decision is the cause of a dogs blocked digestive track and the resulting surgery or worse yet the cause of one of our dogs to die! the leadership just wont listen to us or our on site vet. it is my hope that by getting as much support as i can for our vet and kennel staff that these unnecessary tragedys can be avoided. if you are willing to help by letting the leadership know the potential problems this can cause I will provide you with my personal Email. any help you may be willing to offer will be greatly appreciated.

send me your email and I will concur with your concerns and recommendations...many dogs prefer to sleep on the floor anyways and I have done way to many exploratory surgeries pulling out blankets from dogs who have eaten them...
