If it means you will have to get rid of him it is worth taking him to the vet to find out what it is.
It should not be too hard to fix it sounds like it could be an infection in his sheath.
Or if the smell is coming through the skin you need something to neutralise it orally.
You could have set up a reaction by shaving him and bathing him too often. Ask one of our resident Vets on here that donate their time they could come up with an answer.
To protect his skin it would be a good idea to put a light weight rug on him when he goes out side.
its the Strong doggie odor, but its so strong it even makes me natious. I cant bath him more then once a week really or that might make him have skin issues... hes an Aussie pup, just turnd 1yr, hence the not fixed Yet part.
and its not his butt that stinks lol. my nose needs no go there ;)
its a strong wet/stinky dog crossed with musk scent.
If this is a real foul smell, and not just a strong 'doggy' smell...then it could be he has anal gland leakage?
With some dogs they need their anal glands expressing on a regular basis. Sometimes when they need squeezing out, they leak a little. Pooh!
I guess this could just start up, though he might not have had problems before.
I would not recommend doing this yourself. It can be a nasty smelly job, and if done wrongly can cause pain, so It's better the vet does it. (if it IS that problem) Worth having a little sniff at his butt (rather you than me!) to see if that's where the stink is coming from. If so -off to the vet!
i dont know what kind of dog u have but i have a part chow and i know in summer he smells realy bad if hes outside in the sun he is 11 yrs old an started this smell when he was about 5 we asked the vet y he has this bad odor an they said cause he sweats through his skin an its just like how we have to wear deoderant due to sweating they told us to buy colloge(sry for spelling) for dogs and it is better on smell but cant spray it with me around cause of my asma
