my mini schnauzer...

Hi, to start I live in China and do not have the best access to a good veterinarian. With that being said my 3 month old mini schnauzer has been doing this thing where it sounds like he is trying to clear his throat or get something up then at the end dry heaves. This has been happening for the past 24 hours. When the few times he has thrown up in been clear like water. What should I do? is this normal?

Maybe he ate something that gave him a tummy ache.  I recommend not giving him food for 24 hours (I used to work for a vet, so I know this is okay to do), and then when you begin feeding him again, give only small amounts at a time for a day or so.  Also, do not allow him to 'gulp' water.  If you must, put one cup of water in his bowl at a time.  It is safe to give him pepto-bismol as well, about a teaspoonful if you can get him to take it.  Hope this helps.  Blessings - Blu
