Did this happen ever-so-suddenly? Like one minute she was fine, and the next, maybe went out to pee for a few minutes, then came back, and her nose started to swell? If so, it sounds very much like a bite of some kind, or even a bee-sting. Bee stings can swell like heck -even wasp stings can. I know, I've had a few! And they can really throb and hurt. That in itself could make her feel quite yuck.
I am sure if she were actually allergic to something like that, she would have shown more dramatic symptoms quite quickly. But if by chance it happened to be a spider bite, then she would need to see the vet urgently.
I think you should take her to the vet as soon as possible -to be on the safe side. If it's nothing more than a wasp sting, ok....but if it were a spider bite from a poisonous type, or a snakebite, she will need emergency care right now.
Even if it is only a bee sting, she will need the sting removed which can be a little tricky to remove yourself
Meanwhile, if you investigate the swelling with a magnifying glass, you may be able to see a small puncture wound or red dot. That would give a very strong clue, and point almost definitely to this being a sting or bite. See a double-mark....looks like it could be a snakebite.
Another possibility of course is that there is an abscess formed from a small wound or scratch there. She would need that properly treated by the vet as well
Thank you for getting back to me!
Well my little dog's nose has gone back to normal but I spent all night last night up with her as she was throwing up and then this morning she started having diarrhea. I gave her some Sulcrate that I had from the last time she was vomiting and it seemed to stop that but the diarrhea is not stopping. Is there something I can do to stop the diarrhea?
