Ear Clogges/Muffeled Hearing

About 2 weeks ago I woke up with my ear feeling clogged. I had just went to a live show, so I thought it was related to that. As the days went on my ear became even more clogged, and hearing became muffled. In the last two weeks I have had frequent headaches, stuffy nose, drowsiness and overall head conjestion. It is worse in the mornings and in the evenings. I have taken over the counter conjestion meds, used ear drops for wax build up, used ear candles and even amoxicillian, but it is still there. There is no pain, no leaking, no dizziness..is this allergy related, simply a head cold, ear infection? It is unlike something I have ever had. It doesn't see like a cold, and I have never had ear problems in the past. It has just dragged on for days with no relief. i do not have health insurance, so I am holding off on going unless absolutely necessary. I don't know if I should continue taking over the counter meds, I have reached my max on these and prescription antibiotics. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much.

It could be a Eustacian tube infection.

It sounds like your sinuses are seriously congested -- this would explain all of your symptoms. In my experience, it's best to use a neti pot (once a day for a week or so) -- you can buy them at many drugstores or at Whole Foods. Here's one at Target: http://tinyurl.com/37oewzr . You should get results pretty quickly.

If you are able to tolerate it, try allergy medicine for a few days and see if it reduces your symptoms.  It might not take them away completely, but if it reduces the symptoms, it might be the cause.  Hope this helps.
