Any help for my blocked ears??

I started out with a bad cold which turned into a bad ear infection in May. I went to the doctors multiple times to receive the same sudafed, anibiotics, and nasal spray. The pain went away, but my ears have been blocked ever since. They crackle when I yawn and swallow. It seemed to get better in the cold, but now it seems to have gone back to being pretty clogged. I'm not so sure about getting tubes in my ears, so I don't know what to do. I'm getting fed up. I've read alot of the posts,but I'm just not sure what to do. Any help?

Have the doctors not suggested you putting olive oil in your ears for a weeks to soften up the blockage and then have them syringed?
