Hello and hope you are doing well.
Keloid is a scar in which there is extreme overgrowth of scar tissue that grows beyond the limits of original wound and shows no tendency to resolve. They are usually found to be familial (running in families).
Surgical treatment is only met with recurrence. Some keloid scars will improve with pressure or intralesional injections of steroids such as triamcinolone. The best cure rates are achieved with a combination of surgery and postoperative interstitial radiotherapy. Discuss these options with your doctor when you happen to meet him next time.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
No they bother him and he's in constant pain because of it. Pus comes out of them.
If it does not give him syptoms or pain/discomfort, then don't get any work done on it.
If something does not itch, do not scratch :)
Thank you. My husband has two huge keloid scars on his ear lobes and I know he needs surgery we just don't have insurence . :'(
Hi there,
On surgical incisions you can get thickening of the skin and that is called keloid.
Hope it clarified it for you.
