Mild but strange symtpoms, throat/mouth

Hi there,

A couple of days ago, I noticed that my tongue appeared scalloped, which I have not noticed before, though I do clench and grind. I have a very mild sore throat. Lymph nodes do not seemto be swollen, but I was feeling around my neck and I am alarmed to have found a tiny little bump, pea sized, that I feel on the left side, just left of adams apple.

I am now terrified. I do have HPV (gynecologist tested for strain and said it was not cancer causing, though I don't know if different strains cause different cancers of mouth/genitals),  and I do consume maybe 7-10 drinks per week. Can anyone offer any ideas? I am really scared. I will call for doctor's appt tomorrow, of course.

Thanks so much.

Hi there,

No replies, so thought I'd post again w/ updates.

Still having problems. Tongue is still scalloped and sore, almost like an ulcer feeling, at base, and extends into throat a bit. Some hoarseness and mild coughing. Still have some bumpiness in left neck and clicking when I swallow. Very mild itchiness in ear.

Went to ENT a few days ago, who gave what I felt was a superficial exam. Did scope throat, but didn't have me move tongue around or do an exam of nasal cavities. Said he sees nothing at all, not even inflammation of any sort, and come back in three weeks. No blood work or anything.

I am just exhausted by this. It is constant and I don't feel reassured. I'm thinking of seeking another ENT opinion next week.

Any input would be great.
Thanks.

Also, have ear pain today on same side...pretty bad pain in the outer ear cartilage. Thank you. I do get that from time to time.
