What's this smell/taste?

Hiya, I'm a 17 year old AS Biolgy student and on Monday 13th June we were practicing aseptic technique whilst preparing to cultivate E.Coli on an agar plate with antibiotics. The smell of the e.coli was rather potent and I had the smell of it under my nose all day. However, it's now Friday the 17th and I still have a funny taste/smell in the back of my nasal cavity. Is this just a coincidence to having cold as I'm sneezing often and have a sore throat, could this be to do with the e.coli experiment?
Thanks, Lucy
