Will sinusitis resolve once you start seeing improvement?

I posted a question a few days ago and haven't received a response. I am new to this communiy, so please forgive the question if I am inpatient, but if no one response, does that mean that they just don't know the answer?

In a nutshell, I have been sick with sinusitis and strep  for over a month - on antibiotics, nettie pot, nasal drops, etc.
I am just starting to feel a little better - no horrible taste (like mucos) in my postnasal drip, breathing better, although still have a headache. My question is, once you start to see improvement, do you usually improve until it is finally resolved or could it stay at this "improvement stage" and never resolve without surgery? I have a deviated septum.

I thought so too but now the doctor told me that the infection is resolved (when he looked up my nose with a camera) and he doesn't know if my issue is sinusitis!  I still have headache & pressure (especially when I bend my head)
so I am quite sure it is still sinusitis.  I am going to another ENT today!

Why was surgery not an option for you?  I thought if you had a deviated septum surgery helps the sinus drain?

Thanks, I feel like I am getting better, but it is such a slow process. I just hope I get back to feeling totally better so I don't have to resort to surgery.
I will keep all of us in my prayers!

I have not had allergy testing done since this is my first sinusitis but I will now since I could have developed on allergy. Thanks so much for your response!

Antibiotics don't work well on sinus infections (verified by recent news reports).  In fact, normal sinuses in most people have hundreds of different kinds of bacteria, good and bad, and antibiotics mess up this balance.  It sometimes takes weeks to get back to normal.

Sorry for the lack of response, there are many people asking for help, and it takes time to get to everyone. I apologize.

It's very hard to say, as each person is different, as is our healing processes.

I too have a deviated septum, and was told by my ENT that surgery was not an option for me.

I have had sinus troubles my entire life...adenoids were removed when I was 6, broke my nose at 7 and 12...I've had issues ever since.

Although things should start to clear up for you soon, it is possible that you will be "stuck" at this stage for many years. ( Mostly due to the PND and DS)
Have you had allergy testing done?  It's quite possible that you may have an underlying condition such as allergies that are causing these problems for you...or at least adding to them.
