clicking in throat

I have a clicking in my throat when I swallow.  Also, there is a grinding feeling, and sound when I press with my finger to the right side of my larynx.  Both symptoms occur on the right side, and seem to be affected by the same object in the throat.  I have read many other postings on the internet from people suffering from the same thing, but have found no explanations for it.  I would like to know what causes it, if it is serious, and if it can be reversed.  Thank you.  Andrea

I am making an appointment with a throat Specialest for my Nephew this week I will not stop until this is solved I will pass along all information as I receive it. Please all of you try to relax, since some of you have had this issue for quite some while it does not sound life threatning, so that is a blessing.

I have had this problem since kindergarden. I am now in ninth grade and still have this issue. I had an ear infection when I was little that may have something to do with it, but Im not sure. It randomly happens to me, and clicks when Im breathing both in and out. I tried cleaning out my ears (Q-Tips first (which you really arent supposed to do anyway) and then peroxide), which did not work. I also tried popping my ears by holding my nose and breath and pushing hard, adding pressure to my ears. That didnt work either. One of my best friend in first grade had the same problem, and we were talking about it and the other two kids in our group were lookig at us like we grew a second head, so obviously not everyone has this problem. I recently had surgery (NOT on my ears), and i have to go for a follow-up with the surgeon, so I think Im going to ask him about it. I dont know if he can help me or not, but if he can Ill be sure to share it with all of you!!!
