It sounds like maybe the antibiotic is not really working for this infection and you need to be on a different one. Usually an increase of symptoms after 3 days means that the antibioitic is not working. Try calling your doctor's office to see if they can change your treatment without you coming in.
I have the bloody muscus frequently with sinus infections. That is part of the reason it is important to treat them. I think it is pretty normal.

Olive oil has some anti-imflamatory properties. My Grandma used to put three or four drops in my ear. Also, you can place a warm wet wash cloth in a zip lock bag and place it over the ear that's hurting. Make sure its not too hot. You can use a heating pad for the same thing but the moist heat works better. I think. Once your doctor's office is open, give them a call and talk to the nurse. She might call you in a different antibiotic.
