This may or may not help. I read somewhere that chewing and spitting can cause an insulin response which is how you develop type II diabetes (too many insulin responses and your body loses its insulin sensitivity) and it would make sense that bulimia would also. I don't really know. if it did, you would think you would have heard about it by now though.
I have it now, and I was bulemic from 12-19(ish), messing with your blood sugars can trigger issues. Diabetics need to regulate their blood sugars, many aren't insulin dependant, but I have to watch what I eat and drink. My GP said being bulemic sure didn't help me at all. Go to your doctor if you have questions, you may have a genetic disposition like I do, though I didn't know it.
i was bulemic from the age of 13 to 15 and at 15 i had my tonsils removed then was diagnosed with diabetes type 1. The docs said it was shock to the system with having had the tonsils out but i know with all my heart it was a gift from the man above that said to me shut the hell up and look after the gift i gave you..... Yes my body...... Love all that you have its all you've got............. Smile...............
yes it can. Long term bulimia can result in pancreatitis, which in turn , over time can cause permanent damage to the insulin producing organ. I speak from experience ive been bulimic for 24 years, and am now diabetic due to long term pancreatitis.
