Confussed about EBV

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Sjogren's Syndrome about 15-16 years ago. I have dealt with that the best I have been able too. The flare ups and all that. But, about a month ago I had what I thought was going to be a fibro flare up but it never went away. My doctor tested me for EBV and said I was positive and that was it. I have been trying to get him to return my messages and the earliest appointment I can get is in April. My psychiatrist had wrote my off work for depression because I went to him telling him that I just can't seem to get out of bed. Well anyways, my question is I know that EBV is the mono virus but what am I supposed to expect? Is there treatment or is it like fibro where I just learn to live with it? I can't function anywhere close to normal without getting at least 12-13 hours sleep and thats the minimum.

Hi, sorry to hear what you're going through!  Really the only way to get over EBV is to get as much rest as possible, until you start feeling better, then take things VERY slowly from there (going back to work, etc.).  Unfortunately I don't know much of anything about FM, so I can't really help you there.  I definitely know the feeling of not even being able to get out of bed in the morning; don't worry, it will pass!!  I know it's not very easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but with rest and time, I think you'll start to see small improvements.  Hope this helps, and don't be afraid to ask any more questions!
