Your thoughts on my daytime fatigue problem

Hi, Platelet Gal -- I think you're right: should be over the EBV after a yr.  I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and have been treated with antibiotics for 6 months or so now.  I also have Hashimoto's thyroid disease.  Still looking for a solution for the fatigue.  I am on Armour natural thyroid, am about settled on a correct dose for that.  I also have depression but am taking Prozac for that.

Almost every day I about have to sleep for 2 or 3 hrs every afternoon.  Any ideas on what I can do for that problem??
I had a sleep study done & it said I have restless legs.  My family dr. wanted me to take Requip for it, but I am resisting doing that.  I guess if it really helped with the daytime tiredness, I would.  As long as it doesn't cause weight gain.

How interesting.  Mycoplasma.  Maybe.  I see erythromycin is used to treat it.

I have taken Amoxicillin for several months, tried a few other antibiotics (Bactrim caused flu symptoms, wondering now if that was a herxheimer reaction) also Ceftin generic (paused taking it since it seems to cause mood swings for me and it is Christmas!!  LOL)
I tried Clarithromycin generic for a short time.  When they cause negative side effects I want off them right away.  Maybe I should be persevering regardless of the side effects. My other issue is, can't take minerals with some of these antibiotics, and it seems important to be on iron tabs and also calcium/magnesium.  At last visit my lyme dr. said he would insert a pic line if I want.

I had kinda gotten to the point where I was wondering if my aching and fatigue could be due to medication-induced lupus.  Wondering if stopping my prozac would help that.

I really just don't know any more.  I've been tested for the co-infections like tularemia and bartonella; those came back negative.

Hi ! If you have lyme disease and high EBV titers.... it is possible that you have multiple infections. You may want to check out this link to this article on various infections that are seen in chronically ill patients:

I'm not surprised to hear about your restless legs syndrome diagnosis. I recently posted an article about how common restless legs syndrome is in fibromyalgia patients (I'm sure CFS as well... these illnesses are basically the same and have the same causes... IMO). Here's the link to the fibro research board, where I posted that info:

As far as your afternoon naps, my thoughts are this:  if your body needs to rest, then it needs to rest.

I hope that your symptoms will continue to improve once you are finished being treated for the lyme bacteria. Which antibiotics are you taking ? I'm asking because since it sounds like you could have multiple infections and/or L-form bacteria (mycoplasma infection).... then you would want to make sure that the antibiotics you are taking would cover those infections as well.
