Low Testosterone?

I have multiple symptoms which I am starting to believe might be low testosterone.  I have lost most of the hair on my legs, chest, etc., have had extreme difficulty in getting an erection,  have been suffering from memory loss which seems to be getting worse (Dr. has checked for dementia/alzheimers and says not to worry), low energy, muscle definition is disappearing.  These symptoms have evolved over the last 10 years but seem to be getting worse at a faster rate.  I have just turned 60.  I am insulin resistant, but no other health issues.  What type of physician should I see?

Your family doctor can send you for the blood work. you need total testosterone, free testosterone and estrogen levels checked. I was treated @ age 35 and I am now 45 and I haven't taken my meds for 2 yrs and have had alot of health issues in the last 2 yrs esp with my heart it's time to go back to the replacement therapy. I have tried them all from injections to gels to patches.I like the injections I give them myself but the do hurt like hell. With the gels I sweat alot so most of it came off and with the patches I had to shave down below and attach to my sack didn't work out that well! For me my dr wanted me to inject every 2 weeks that didn't last because with the shots after 1 week I would start feeling like I did before and I knew from my body that I needed a shot once a week plus the gel to get me on an even par and it worked great. gl

You should see a urologist.

A urologist or endocrinologist will run the right tests , and there are a lot of them . The hormonal system is controled by the pituitary gland and sometimes a head injury or just old age can cause it to not release the proper hormones , so get tested because there are lots of hormones to be looked at . Don't delay .
